Georg John was born on July 23, 1879, in Śmigiel, a town in Poland. He became a notable performer in German theater and cinema during the early twentieth century, establishing himself through work on both stage and screen. His career spanned a transformative period in entertainment history, as the film industry emerged and evolved alongside traditional theatrical performance.

John’s life ended tragically on November 18, 1941, in the Łódź Ghetto, where he perished during one of history’s darkest chapters. He was 62 years old.
