Born on January 1, 900, he came of age during a transformative period in European history. As Duke of Spoleto from approximately 896 until 920 or 922, Alberic wielded considerable influence over the region’s political and territorial affairs during his tenure.

His rule encompassed a significant span of the duchy’s history, and his position as a Lombard nobleman placed him among the important regional figures of his era.
