Eddie Jordan 1948 – 2025

Biography

Born in Dublin with racing in his blood, Eddie Jordan became one of motorsport’s most influential power brokers, building a Formula 1 team from scratch that competed at the sport’s highest echelons. His sharp eye for talent and business acumen made Jordan Grand Prix a genuine force on the grid, proving that ambition and determination could challenge the sport’s establishment. But it was his second act as a broadcaster that cemented his place in popular culture—his infectious enthusiasm, candid analysis, and ability to translate technical complexity into compelling television made him essential viewing for millions of F1 fans worldwide.

Jordan’s transition from paddock operator to TV personality was seamless; he brought insider knowledge and genuine love for racing to every appearance, whether commentating high-stakes grands prix or bantering with fellow analysts. His approachable charm and willingness to speak plainly about the sport earned him respect across generations of viewers. The Dublin-born racing man passed away on January 1, 2025, from bladder cancer, leaving behind an indelible mark on motorsport both as a visionary executive and beloved broadcast personality.
