James Gadsden (1788–1858) was an American diplomat, soldier, planter, politician and railroad manager. Born May 15, 1788 in Charleston. Died December 26, 1858 in Charleston. Interred at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, Charleston, United States.
