Prince Henry of Prussia

Biography

Born into the glittering world of the Hohenzollern dynasty in 1862 Berlin, Prince Henry of Prussia inhabited one of Europe’s most storied royal families during an era of seismic change. As imperial courts rose and fell and empires reshaped themselves across the continent, Henry remained a fixture in Germany’s aristocratic upper echelons, navigating the dramatic upheavals of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries with the privilege and weight that came with his name.

Henry’s later years were defined by life at Gut Hemmelmark, his northern German estate, where he maintained the dignified presence befitting his station. The prince died there on April 20, 1929, succumbing to esophageal cancer at sixty-six. His final resting place in Schleswig-Holstein cemented his legacy within the region he’d long called home—a prince whose life mirrored the grandeur and turbulence of an entire era of European history.
