Biography

Tyti was an ancient Egyptian queen consort who lived during one of Egypt’s most powerful dynasties. Born on January 1, 1150 BCE in Ancient Egypt, she became the wife of Ramses III, one of the last great pharaohs of the New Kingdom. As queen consort, Tyti held an important position within the royal court during a period of significant cultural and political activity in ancient Egypt.

Though specific details about Tyti’s life remain limited in historical records, her role as the consort of such a notable ruler indicates her importance to the royal family. Ramses III was known for his military campaigns and monumental building projects, and Tyti would have been part of the sophisticated court life that surrounded the throne during this era.

Tyti was eventually laid to rest in the Valley of the Queens, located in the Qurnah District near Thebes. This sacred burial ground was reserved for the wives and female relatives of the pharaohs, a testament to her status and significance. Her burial in this distinguished location reflects the honor accorded to her as a queen of ancient Egypt during the height of pharaonic civilization.
