Biography

Zagir Ismagilov was born on January 8, 1917, in the village of Sermenevo, beginning a life that would leave a lasting mark on Bashkir musical culture. Throughout his career, he devoted himself to composition, creating works that reflected the rich artistic traditions of his people and region. His contributions to music became an integral part of Bashkir cultural heritage, demonstrating a deep commitment to his craft across many decades.

On May 30, 2003, Ismagilov passed away in Ufa at the age of eighty-six, concluding a long and productive life dedicated to the arts. He was laid to rest at Ufa Muslim Cemetery, returning to his homeland in death as he had served it in life.
