Born on January 1 in 4 BCE in Vienne, a thriving city in Gaul, he rose to prominence in the imperial capital through his political acumen and distinguished service. Over his fifty-year life, Asiaticus witnessed tremendous change in Rome’s political landscape and played an active role in the governance of one of history’s greatest empires.
