Little is known of his early years, but his aristocratic background would have shaped the trajectory of his life during a transformative period in European history. Like many nobles of his era, Menou witnessed the profound changes that swept through France and beyond during the latter half of the eighteenth century.
Menou lived through decades of considerable upheaval, navigating the complexities of aristocratic life as the social and political landscape of Europe shifted dramatically. His experiences reflected the challenges faced by many French nobles who had to adapt to new circumstances and ideologies that challenged the old order. Though specific details of his accomplishments and activities remain limited in the historical record, his life spanned a crucial era that fundamentally altered the course of European civilization.
He spent his final years in Carpenedo, where he died on August 13, 1810, at the age of fifty-nine.
